Zoetrope creates music that is a perfect example of 'folk hop'. The unique sound is a combination of funk and groove of modern rhythms blended with the anguish and rage of folk lyrics and vocals. It could be a fusion between an acoustic guitar and vocals with a drum machine. Soul-searching lyrics combined with instruments creating modern rhythmic sounds embodied the trademark of Zoetrope songs; although some are still in straight-out techno style.
