BYO Records was launched and managed by brothers: Shawn and Mark Stern. B.Y.O. stands for Better Youth Organization. Its main aim was to promote punk and other alternative youth cultures in a positive way. BYO serves as an extension of the ethos promoted by the Youth Brigade. The label had released records by genre-defining bands like 7 Seconds, SNFU, Leatherface, Kosher, The Briefs, and many more. As an independent punk rock record label company in Los Angeles, CA; BYO was 27 years old in 2009.
